Diwali or Deepawali is an Indian festival which is also called a festival of lights. People light Diyas (cotton string wicks inserted in small clay pots filled with oil)
and burst firecrackers to celebrate this festival.
They also wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks. This is a Festival celebrated for the Victory of Light over Dark, which ha a Historical importance. More info about this festival can be read here.
