When you click on register button it shows the error that you have register IDM with fake serial key, and IDM will exit.

Most Important steps start now :-

1. Goto start ->RUN or you can use shortcut key (win. key + R) and RUN dialog box will open, enter the following command in this box

notepad %windir%system32driversetchosts

now you’ll see notepad name “hosts“. At the end of this file you’ll see..

127.0.0.1       localhost

after that add these lines :-

127.0.0.1    tonec.com
127.0.0.1    www.tonec.com
127.0.0.1    registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    www.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    secure.registeridm.com
127.0.0.1    internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    www.internetdownloadmanager.com

127.0.0.1    mirror.internetdownloadmanager.com
127.0.0.1    mirror2.internetdownloadmanager.com

after adding these lines save the notepad file and exit it.

But in Windows vista,7 or 8 you can’t save this file for security reasons so follow these steps :-

2. Goto following folder “C ->Windows -> system32 ->drivers -> etc “

You will see file name “hosts” as shown in following pic.

3. Right click on hosts then goto properties and goto security tab and choose your admin account, and just below it you will see edit button click on this button.

Give the full control, write, and read rights to user and click on apply as shown in following pic.

4. Now open this “hosts” file with notepad as shown in following pic

5. Paste the following lines at the end of file :-

6. Save this file and exit. now open IDM and enter your name, email and serial key. Your IDM has been converted into full version. this trick is working for all versions.

7. If you want to update your IDM then follow step 3 and remove these lines :-

127.0.0.1    www.registeridm.com

and after updating your IDM again follow steps 1 to 3 .
